RS RS RESEARCHWebsites, built to the finding

How it works

How a rebuild gets scoped

The assessment comes first and it is published whether or not you buy anything. What it found weak is what gets built; what it found sound is not touched, and not charged for.

A score is not a quote, and a quote is not a proposal

Three steps, in this order, and the first one is finished before the second is priced.

First the assessment. Your site is scored out of two on each of the five components, with the reason for each score written down and the evidence attached. It is a document you can read, disagree with, and take to somebody else. We publish it to you whether or not you go any further, because an assessment that only appears when it leads to a sale is a sales document wearing a lab coat.

Then the scope. Whatever scored zero or one is the work. Whatever scored two is not touched and not charged for — which means a site that is already sound on three components gets a smaller job than one that is weak on all five, and the difference is visible rather than negotiated.

Then the build, against that scope. When we finish, the same five components are scored again, by the same method, and you are shown both. If a component did not move, that is in the record too. The alternative is asking you to take our word for it, and this firm exists because too many people are asked to do that.

What none of that buys you is a ranking, a traffic figure, or an estimate of what you will earn back. Nobody can honestly sell those — they depend on competitors, on a search engine nobody here controls, and on what you do after the site ships. Any firm quoting you a number for them has either not thought about it or is counting on you not to.

We measure and we build, and here is how that is kept honest

The obvious objection, answered before you have to raise it.

A firm that scores websites and also sells rebuilds has an interest in finding problems. Pretending otherwise would be the first dishonest thing on a site whose sister business exists to point out unsupported claims. So it is stated, on both sites, and three things hold it in place.

The assessment is published to the business it is about whether or not they buy anything, and it names what scored well as plainly as what scored badly. No scoring factor exists because this service happens to sell it — the five components were defined for the research and have not been changed since the build service was considered. And the assessment is yours: take it to any developer, or use it to argue with us.

If that is not enough, the method is written out in full on the research site, including what it does not verify. Read it before believing any number on this page.

That is all the first step needs. We will tell you whether an assessment already exists for it.
